The State Executive Council has approved the sum of One Billion, Four Hundred and Eighty-Seven Million, One Hundred and Eighty Thousand, Two Hundred and Forty-Nine Naira (₦1,487,180,249.00) only for the award of contract for the renovation and reconstruction of the Emir of Hadejia Palace, in recognition of its historical, cultural, and traditional significance to the people of the State.
The project is aimed at restoring and preserving the palace structure, improving its functionality, and safeguarding its status as an important symbol of traditional authority, heritage, and cultural identity.
The reconstruction works will also enhance the safety, durability, and aesthetic value of the historic edifice. This intervention underscores the State Government’s commitment to the preservation of traditional institutions and cultural heritage, while ensuring that historic landmarks are maintained to acceptable standards for present and future generation .
