The Senate has approved the electronic transmission of election results to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IREV), while allowing manual collation only as a backup where technology fails.
This means election results must be transmitted electronically to the IREV portal as the primary method.
Manual collation will only be used as a fallback in cases of network or technical challenges.
In simple terms: electronic transmission is the main process; manual results come in only when technology fails.
Some, Nigerians are now reacting, saying the government already has Plan A, B, C, and D in place.
