The All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to stage a continuity in Jigawa state , following the formal endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu , Gov Umar Namadi and Senator Ahmad Abdulhamid of the Senate, representing Jigawa North East all for their second term by key stakeholders across the Hadejia area.
Hadejia was for long a stronghold of the APC since 2014 before the 2015 general election. In that cycle, the then ruling party PDP lost the local government election in Hadejia and Malam Madori
Since the 2015 victory , the APC has remained widely regarded as the most influential voting blocs of APC in the state . Throughout this period, Senator Ahmad Abdulhamid has became the backbone of the party in the area even before gaining his elective office. Recently, the APC vice chairman In charge of Jigawa North East Hon Abdullahi Ango Malam Madori , one of the founding father’s of APC in the state hailed Ahmad as the “General of Hadejia Politics,” remarking that posterity would remember his contributions favourably. As the 2027 general elections draw closer, APC stakeholders in Jigawa have begun reassessing their strategy to maintain the state from what they describe as the under dogs politicians , who are working toward destroying the ruling party . Over the past four weeks, influential voices within the party in Hadejia emirate have continued to backed President Tinubu’s , M Umar Namadi and Sen Malam Madori second-term bid and intensified calls for Senator Ahmad , who also serves as the Senate chairman committee of police affairs , to be adopted as the APC sole aspirant and candidate in the senatorial constituency
The senator was further assured of the people’s mandate this Wednesday 23 December 2025 after visiting his constituency on a condolence to relatives of some lost people across three local government areas Hadejia, Kaugama , and Auto .
