Senator Ahmed Abdulhamid Malam Madori representing Jigawa North East pronounced the Establishment of Mobile Police Unit in Guri Local Government Area, during a public interactive session called ” Gwabnati da Jamaa” , Organised by the Jigawa state government in Guri town .
Few months after the pronouncement construction of the unit commenced now, which will complement 20 blocks of police barracks and a modern one-story police station, to be equipped with contemporary security facilities at the local government headquarters. These initiatives aimed at enhancing security in the region, which is known for its fertile land that supports year-round farming and grazing for both local and foreign Fulani herders.
Senator Malam Madori highlighted the historical context of farmer-herder conflicts due to competing land use, stating that the Mobile Police unit and new infrastructure are designed to alleviate these tensions and foster a more stable environment for agricultural and livestock activities.
In a related development , the senator decided to plans for a modern stadium in Guri as part of federal constituency projects, aimed at providing recreational facilities for the local community. He also mentioned that several youths from the area have recently been employed in federal security agencies, including the police and immigration services, reflecting the government’s commitment to enhancing local opportunities and security.
Through these initiatives, the people in the community applauded the senator and Federal Government for their commitment towards promoting peace, security, and development in Guri and its surrounding communities.
