The two incumbent senators from Jigawa State – Ahmad Abdulhamid Malam Madori Jigawa North East and Babangida Hussaini Jigawa North West have returned unopposed at the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary in Hadejia and Gumel senatorial headquarters respectively
Ahmad Malam Madori was affirmed as the party’s candidate following the withdrawal of his main challengers CG ( Rtd) Muhammad Babandede , Barr Sani Garin Gabas and Pharm Ubaki Hashim where he was affirmed as sole candidates.
The affirmation exercises were conducted by the Chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee from Sokoto state and was attended by APC leaders, stakeholders, and supporters from their respective Senatorial Zone. including Zonal vice chairman Jigawa State Hon Muhammad Umar Dikkuma , and State vice chairman Hon Nasiru Jahun .
If victorious in the general election, Ahmad Malam Madori would be returning to the National Assembly for a second term.
Speaking shortly after his affirmation, the former Nigerias representative in Istanbul expressed gratitude to APC stakeholders, delegates, and party supporters in Jigawa North East for their confidence in him.
“I want to thank our party elders and executives in the North East Senatorial District for their unwavering support. I will continue to promote their interests at all times,” Malam Madori emphasized . He later thanks Gov Umar Namadi for his unwavering courage , advice and motivations before this success was achieved .
Sen Ahmad further urged APC members and stakeholders in the district to remain united and continue working together as “one political family” ahead of the general elections comes 2027
